In the late 1990s, 2000 AD entered a distinctly darker, more cinematic phase, defined by dense line work, harsh urban dystopias and experimental page design. A new generation of artists reshaped the magazine’s identity, pushing British comics beyond traditional Franco-British realism into a more hybrid visual language of speed, fragmentation, and psychological intensity. Among them, Siku contributed to titles including Judge Dredd, bringing a distinctive mix of dynamism and bold cinematic framing. His generation helped crystallise a late-1990s British style that was grittier and increasingly focused on atmosphere.
